Attacks on the homeless by thrill-seekers and especially the blue-line marauders continue to further the violence against the defenseless which has been an ongoing epidemic. When overreaching government agencies, like CPS, kidnap kids from their families. When single mothers are violated by violent members of society or even their own spouses or boyfriends. When these law enforcement gangs press on with their blatant extortion, assaults, and murders for simply possessing a medicinal herb and other victimless so-called “crimes”. When people of certain races, religions, or sexuality are zeroed in on by would-be assailants. Arming these folks will bring a tilt back towards an even playing field.
Just like the hesitancy of a criminal going into an environment where the patrons are armed. The simple deterrent of being armed will, in itself, immediately drive down the harassment and violence towards these regularly defenseless humans. As Thomas Jefferson stated, “When the people fear the government we have tyranny. When the government fears the people we will have liberty”.
Assaults resulting in fatalities against homeless people outnumber hate-crimes against all of the protected classes added together. Between 1999 and 2015, at least 1,657 homeless individuals were violently attacked, in many cases because of their housing status, according to a report by the National Coalition for the Homeless.
Back in March, a Michigan Senate candidate Brian Ellison said, “There are a lot of charities out there that help to provide the homeless with food, housing, job training, all kinds of stuff.” He added, “There’s not a charity out there that helps them learn how to protect themselves. What’s going to drive this is popular support.”
A recent article states “The number of people who live in their vehicles because they can’t find affordable housing is on the rise, even though the practice is illegal in many U.S. cities. The number of people residing in campers and other vehicles surged 46 percent over the past year, a recent homeless census in Seattle’s King County, Washington, found. The problem is exploding in cities with expensive housing markets, including Los Angeles, Portland, and San Francisco, according to Governing magazine.”
A survey by the National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty (NLCHP), that eyes laws and ordinances in and around 187 US cities, discovered that the number of prohibitions targeting people residing in their vehicles has more than doubled during the past 10 years. So more laws are being created daily that infringe on these people who choose to live a different way. With a vehicle still being considered part of your private property in most states, now is the time more than ever to provide self-defense tools to the homeless populations who want them.
Here at DontComply.com we are sponsoring the 1st Annual, National Give Arms To The Armless Month (this August). Everyone with a 3D printer, go here to download the Liberator and print it out. Send them to us and we will distribute them. Making sure they go to where they are needed most. Police will soon think twice before they cut homeless out of their tents during blizzards, arrest people feeding the hungry, tear families apart, bust people for victimless crimes, cage humans for having a plant in their possession and any other victimization of the innocent. We are kicking this off by arming the victims of government oppression and police brutality and let the chips fall where they may. Murdoch Pizgatti, the man behind the idea and DontComply co-founder had this to say, “This winter, if and when we can confirm that the cops are cutting homeless from their tents in a blizzard we will dispatch members of the Don’t Comply Crew to arm the armless homeless.”
Printing and passing out these instructions on how to make guns would be an essential way to give the gift of protection. Going as far as making them ourselves and offering them as gifts, along with some instruction and basic usage and safety explanations, would make their lives and security a little more difficult to breach. In conclusion, I was able to get a statement from the DontComply Public Relations director Matthew Short, he said, “The right of the people to be armed shall not be infringed. It should be encouraged. Using technology and science as tools is included in the rights of the American people to ensure our posterity. It is funny to me that another attempt at violating the first amendment is really a fight about the second. Which ultimately protects us all.”
