Officer Aaron Smith was indicted for murder after the killing of 58 year old Greg Gunn. Gunn was stopped by Officer Smith around 3am on February 25th. Gunn was tased 3 times, beaten, and then shot 5 times, a total of seven shots were fired by smith.
Smith stated he was unable to stop Gunn without deadly force, but he reported multiple conflicting recollections of what happened while talking to investigators after the incident. A pole found near the area was reportedly being used as a weapon but Gunn’s fingerprints were not found on the supposed weapon.
Smith did not have on his body camera and reports that the dash cam in his cruiser was not functioning. His attorney Mickey McDermott blames the Departments budget cuts by forcing Smith to patrol a high crime area alone at night.

It’s a shame too, any of that video evidence could have been used to save him from a conviction. That’s ok though, even if the camera had been on, we all know that juries have no moral backbone when it comes to killer cops, so I’m sure he’ll walk.

I would easily wager there are scores of such white police officers in Alabama who should be immediately arrested.
Been in Alabama and it is one of the most disgustingly racist places on Earth.
