Michele Fiore, a Nevada Republican who’s currently running for United States Congress has been a staunch supporter and representative for Freedom fighters and goes against the grain of most in her party. She agrees based on the Constitution that Americans can justifiably take up arms against the state or federal governments when tyranny or government overreach are rampant.
When the Bundy’s began their standoff with the feds over their grazing rights back in April of 2014, Fiore was one of more than a thousand supporters to arrive in Bunkerville, Nevada. She commented to MSNBC “Generally, when our federal government comes in armed, we are expecting a bigger problem, maybe terrorists crossing the border, not an unpaid bill.”
[adinserter block=”3″]Back in January when Cliven Bundy’s sons, Ammon and Ryan, began another stand for Freedom by choosing to camp out at the refuge in Burns, Oregon, Fiore once again sided with the family. She accepted more interviews, while tweeting words of support for the Freedom fighters and placed the blame on the federal government for the growing standoff.
Reciting bold statements like these in her sit down interview with the Las Vegas Sun “If the government is going to point a gun at me, I’m going to point one right back, and if you’re going to shoot me, I’m going to shoot you back.”
“If the government is going to point a gun at me, I’m going to point one right back, and if you’re going to shoot me, I’m going to shoot you back.”
Assembly-woman Fiore defended the group of cowboys and their 41-day long address of grievances at the Wildlife Preserve who were simply trying to decrease the amount of land that the government claims ownership of. She completely agrees with the group’s tactics and that they were totally lawful.
Fiore stated “It was abandoned, no one was there, so they basically kind of said, ‘This is a great place to camp and make our statement.’”
The government obviously disagrees, and these sadistic federal prosecutors are so far charging 26 of these Freedom fighters in connection to legally and peacefully gathering in Burns, Oregon. They are currently tracking down members of another legal and peaceful stand-off back in 2014 at Cliven Bundy’s Bunkerville, NV ranch.
Fiore is stating that the FBI and Bureau of Land Management are the real terrorists by pointing weapons at the protesters during a January 26, unwarranted traffic stop and the L-shaped ambush that resulted in the fatal shooting of Robert “LaVoy” Finicum. He fled after receiving gunfire to his vehicle then avoided injuring the armed enforcers or damaging their property by driving into a snow bank, then quickly exiting his vehicle to spare the lives of his passengers. Fiore tweeted that he had been “murdered with his hands up.”
Harney County Sheriff David Ward said towards the end of the refuge ordeal that “They were name-dropping her like a job reference,” and were requesting her help to defuse the situation. She helped in negotiations along with Freedom activist Gavin Seim to talk to the remaining four holdouts last month during an intense cell phone conversation as she headed to Oregon. Murdoch Pizgatti from Dontcomply also obtained access to the refuge and had a conversation with the Anderson’s.
After being criticized by her own party for her support for the Oregon protesters, she is now getting the mud-slinging from Jesse Sbaih, a Democratic candidate who is fighting her for the same congressional seat. Sbaih said that she violated her oath as an elected official in Nevada, when she swore to “protect and defend the Constitution and Government of the United States and bear true faith, allegiance and loyalty to the same, any ordinance, resolution or law of any state.”
Sbaih took a jab at her by exclaiming “To support domestic terrorists and completely ignore real civil rights groups is just wrong, it demonstrates how unfit she is to represent the state of Nevada.”
Fiore’s upbringing didn’t fit the usual republican path, she was born in Brooklyn, New York to a liberal mother who raised Michele while frequently attending LGBT equality parades in the later part of the seventies. She had uncles who were employed by the N.Y. Police Department and first taught her to shoot guns.
When they relocated to Las Vegas in the late eighties, she tried college but didn’t finish. Her mother along with young Michele started a home health-care company that they named ‘Always There 4 You’. It did well at first but they shut it down after having their operating license taken by the state.
She seemed to always be in search for bigger ambitions, so in 2005 she wrote, produced, and starred in an independent film titled “Siren” which was about a housewife who tries to succeed as a singer. Her character Storm Fagan, the role she wrote for herself, she portrays a wife and mother that outlasts all the difficulties that come with the music industry and shrugging off the skeptics to pursue her dreams of being a rock star.
Fiore then swapped her dreams of stardom for political ambitions, she ran for US Congress as a member of the tea party tidal wave that engulfed the country. She was soundly beaten in the primary, about two years after that she easily clinched the open state Assembly seat in her district. Fiore presented herself as a strong and was taken seriously but was labeled unpredictable during her first year in Carson City, she only sponsored less than 95 bills, only 16 percent of the bills that were filed. She told a local newspaper, “I didn’t get the memo that says you’re supposed to sit down, shut up and behave,” she told the newspaper.
Showing signs of Libertarian beliefs, she was the only Republican to vote for ending Nevada’s ban on same-sex marriage and ending marijuana prohibition. She was given an A+ rating from the NRA and was mentioned in the national headlines because of her support for allowing college students to possess concealed weapons on campuses. She said “If these young, hot little girls on campus have a firearm, I wonder how many men will want to assault them, the sexual assaults that are occurring would go down once these sexual predators get a bullet in their head.” She even has a Second Amendment Calendar.
Fiore created and filed the “Right to Try” bill, that would allow terminally ill patients to explore other medications that have not been approved by the FDA. A version of the bill garnered a lot of support and ultimately it became law. The slow rise of these insurgents in the name of Freedom has been few and far between, perhaps these coattails contain room for others to ride. The long Journey to restore complete Freedom is near the end, the boulevard of broken dreams could be extended by multiplying the number of revolutionaries in the government. With that injection of liberty, the veins of tyranny could be polluted and collapse from within, resulting in the vast reduction in government itself.
