Following the wake up to reality from the attacks in Paris this week, Governors across America are taking the common sense approach of blocking Obama’s push of Syrian refugees into their States.
In a letter to President Barack Obama, Abbot Said, “As governor of Texas, I write to inform you that the State of Texas will not accept any refugees from Syria in the wake of the deadly terrorist attack in Paris. Further, I – and millions of Americans – implore you to halt your plans to accept more Syrian refugees in the United States. A Syrian “refugee” appears to have been part of the Paris terror attack. American humanitarian compassion could be exploited to expose Americans to similar deadly danger. The reasons for such concerns are plentiful.”
“Texas cannot participate in any program that will result in Syrian refugees – any one of whom could be connected to terrorism – being resettled in Texas.” – Greg Abbott
Abbott now joins Alabama, Arkansas, and Michigan in refusal to accept Syrian refugees. The Obama administration had recently increased the cap on the number of refugees that America will take in. The U.S. now plans to bring in up to 85,000 refugees this year and 100,000 the following year. Growing concerns have been raised over the ability of our immigration department to properly vette those flowing into our borders. Every day it seems more apparent that the protection and safety of America is Obama’s last thought in all of his actions.
