I had a great meeting with Chief Rhodes of the Little Elm PD. He didn’t try and make excuses for the unfortunate things that his men said while letting their personal ideals and emotions cloud their job. The Texas penal codes and laws will be clarified, stressed and reiterated to all officers as well as office personnel.
We pondered several interesting community connection tactics. Everything was discussed from joint meetings with the Home Owners Associations in the area to classes for citizen patrol students, explorer youth programs, and informational booths at city events. We are hoping to make this an example city of cooperation between citizens and their public servants to educate everyone and change public opinion.
