Eddy County, New Mexico Sheriff Scott London, the first Republican ever elected to this position, was called to the Carter’s residence about a door being kicked in. When he rushed over to the property to keep the peace, He discovered that the intruders were the U.S. Marshals, and asked them to leave because the IRS case was in appeal and that due process was being denied to the property owners. The Marshals backed off while threatening to arrest the Sheriff with his arms folded at the front gate and the house behind him. The startled occupants were a young mother and baby, her husband was at work, what an early Christmas present this was, to be raided just before the gift giving holiday. Sheriff London, the first in this elected position to stand up against the IRS in 25 years. London said that the landowner filed an appeal
through the court and demands that his case be granted due process before his land is auctioned off. The Judge disagrees with the Sheriff. A certified letter was sent to the I.R.S in Washington D.C. on February 4th, that read the sale of Kent Carter’s property is cancelled until Carter get’s due process of the law and his case is heard. But the Carter’s property is still on the auction block for February 19th. the Carter’s have already vacated another one of their properties due to excessive liens, they moved their mobile home to an undisclosed residence. Carter said “I chose to leave to keep it from escalating into something ugly, like Ruby Ridge, Idaho.” Carter told the IRS Agents and US Marshals, that are saying he has armed men on his land, “If there is going to be any violence, it is going to be you that starts it.”
The IRS has antagonized Carter for many years claiming that they are not sticking to their own tax codes, not sending late notices and just “pulling out of thin air” outrageous figures. Their accounting has been totally incorrect and unlawful because his personal information like his Social Security number was passed on to 3rd parties. IRS officials said that they can unveil and distribute that once confidential information of citizens if they are in search of their money or property. Right now the IRS are sucking 100% of his Social Security monthly which he says is illegal, they can’t take more than 15% of his earned benefits, he says. His bank account was short $2800 the other day as well that the extortionists grabbed from him. “The IRS is a lie. The income tax is a lie,” stated Carter. “Why should they be able to take anything? They’re worse than the mafia.”
Sheriff Mack is helping by encouraging all county sheriff’s to question the banks in their jurisdictions to not give in to the IRS when they try to “strong arm” them into giving them their customer’s account information without warrants. Sheriff Mack is also demanding that the IRS start abiding by the law and cease all audits that don’t have probable cause, Because it’s a blatant violation of our 4th Amendment. “I agree with Senator Ted Cruz and others who say the IRS should be abolished,” says Mack. “It’s time they got off the backs of the American people.”
“The IRS fabricates evidence against citizens by pulling numbers out of a hat and adding fees,” stated Mack, “They wear people down emotionally and financially until they can’t take it anymore. No citizen should ever have to fight the IRS for decades in order to keep his land.” The Tax and Revenue Department instructed Carter to stop doing business in New Mexico until his tax debt was paid, he refused the unconstitutional injunction because it would prevent him from putting food on the table for him and his family.
Kent Carter’s properties still contain liens and the locks have been changed by the US Marshals and IRS agents. A public auction is still scheduled on the courthouse steps but a true Constitutional Sheriff, Scott London is refusing to conduct it. London said that he learned more about the Constitution while campaigning for county sheriff that he ever had in his whole life and still keeps up on it. Sheriff Mack concluded by saying “Many officers have stood up over the years for the rights of citizens being victimized by the federal government, but Sheriff London is the first one to stand up to the IRS since the 1990’s. His actions show courage and humility. london is setting a great example for the rest of our sheriff’s.”
Kent Carter’s battle is for him and his Family and one day he will tell his grandkids that he stood up and fought against Tyranny for their future and for their Country. What a fortunate stroke of luck that he lives in a county that has a “tough as nails” Sheriff. I hope more and more across the country follow his lead.
