NYPD To Release A Machine Gun Toting Militarized Mob

Straight from the streets of New York City’s ticket boycott and the decrease in crime, Police Commissioner Bill Bratton added some spice to a the police foundation breakfast yesterday by unveiling his plan called the “Strategic Response Group” which will unleash a fully armed, heavily appareled machine gun carrying SWAT-like police posse, to tame Protesters and to be released at large events.

Bratton said that “They will be equipped and trained in ways that our normal patrol officers are not. They’ll be fully equipped with all the extra heavy protective gear, with the long rifles and machine guns. Unfortunately sometimes necessary in these instances …. Designed for dealing with events like our recent protests or incidents like Mumbai or what happened in Paris.” Bratton continued “This permanent force will deal with disorder control, counter-terrorism capabilities, and being on standby for crime scenes.”

With the NYPD being caught on video a numerous amount of times mistreating and abusing protesters, brutalizing residents, and killing people, will these indoctrinated goons take this extreme power to their heads and send the message of overbearing control to the trigger of these Machine Guns? This pilot program is being stocked and financially produced by you guessed it, The Department of Homeland Security with assistance from the city of New York as well. This Hitleresque tactical force will commence in the boroughs of Queens and Manhattan. The Commissioner was quoted saying “This effort is to improve police relations within communities since regular police will no longer be called from their local precincts to deal with protests and alleged security threats …. For years, we’ve asked our officers to engage in the community, but we’ve never given them the time to do it, or the training …. They’ll know the problem people and the problem areas. I truly believe when cops embrace their neighborhoods, that their neighborhoods will embrace them back.”

Really? So the result of the NYPD’s failed management results in a total neglect of posse comitatus, giving way to this militarized intimidation crew marching through neighborhoods? The Organizing Director of Communities United for Police Reform, Priscilla Gonzalez said, Commissioner Bratton’s demand for less oversight of the NYPD and a more militarized police force that would use counter-terrorism tactics against protesters are deeply misguided and frankly offensive. We need a NYPD that is more accountable to New Yorker’s and that stops criminalizing our communities, especially when people are taking to the streets to voice legitimate concerns about discriminatory and abusive policing. Despite evidence that discriminatory broken windows are a failed and harmful policing strategy, Commissioner Bratton stubbornly continues to defend and expand it.” During the Police Breakfast at the Mandarin Hotel yesterday he also instructed the MTA to install cameras on all subways, for the safety of the passengers.
