A small number of counter protesters gathered on Friday to show their difference in opinion of the legal and so far peaceful usage of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge as a rally point for American patriots to boldly express their grievances.
This group which is calling themselves ‘The Great Old Broads for Wilderness’ are the guilty party in the organization of this outcry against the people who have come to help their dying county.
Believing that public lands are part of America’s heritage they would rather continue to discuss and work with the evil government entity known as the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) that has stolen millions of acres of land illegally. By using their power given to them by the strong armed federal government they enforce their will on ranchers, loggers, miners, and private property owners by utilizing authoritarian tactics.
The speakers who spoke at the event were going the Statist route by saying that government should come in and enforce the laws and these lands that are being stolen from people and destroying their livelihoods need to be handled through a “Democratic process” and not by bullying, intimidation and armed anarchy. This is an eroding republic that’s steering towards an evil democracy and this is one of very few small steps that need to be conducted to repair what’s left.
While grasping their homemade protest signs with, “Bullies Go Home!” “Law Abiding Citizens for America’s Public Lands” and “Public Lands are America’s Refuge,” they shouted and pleaded for the Freedom Fighters to leave the tax payer funded refuge office.
Alice Elshoff, an event attendee and board member for the Friends of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, said “It’s time for the bullies to go home,” she added “We’ve felt that way ever since they first came, it’s not just their tactics that are wrong. It’s their message that is just wrong-headed. The majority of the American people love their public lands.”
She continued “We understand what it means for the long term, we want our children, our grandchildren, our great-grandchildren — I’m a great-grandmother — we want them to be able to know our public lands like we have.”
Rynda Clark, one of the leaders for the Great Old Broads for Wildlife, stated, “And it’s time for the bullies to go home. We don’t have to be militants to have our voices heard in this country.”
Laurie from Houston, Texas who has been following the Oregon Front very closely told DontComply.com, “The “old broads”. Obviously want to follow the law as the federal government….they must have not read the contract Article 4.1 The United States shall guarantee to every state in the Union a Republican form of government…”. If they do not or have not read the basis for law in this Union or its form of government. How can they comprehend the laws? Just like DC they never read the (Bill). “
They plan to do this again on Tuesday the 19th at the Crow’s Feet Commons around midday. This one is supposed to be in conjunction of a statewide rally to show appreciation for national public lands. These lands have been taken by force or by undermining the people who used to own them, “Public” is government-owned and there is no authority of the federal government to own any of these lands. This is clearly explained in this short video by a well-versed Constitutional scholar.
Christina H. from LaPine, Oregon told DontComply.com here thoughts on the situation. “I have a background in ranching and also worked for the United States Forest Service and I think everybody really wants to come to a common conclusion here that we want it managed, and managed by good management. I think if you talk to these ladies they’re standing up for what they believe in and we’re standing up for what we believe in but I think there’s a common ground here where we all want what’s best for the land and everybody involved. I also think people need to educate themselves due to a lot of people who are saying that cattle hurt the range land which is not the truth. Studies show that it decrease fire danger, it actually helps with the wildlife, and feeds the fish. It’s not like they’re just taking grass off the property. Imagine if we didn’t have grazing rights on national public land I think the pros would outweigh the cons. I do not agree with these ladies and think that they need to educate themselves so it doesn’t come to a situation like the Spotted Owl in Oregon which as of now said the loggers did not affect them and many people lost their jobs & the economy took a downturn because of it and in some places haven’t recovered.”
We totally respect the protestors right to assemble, as a matter of fact we encourage it. We will defend their right to continue to do so, it’s the Freedom to express your opinion but it also goes both ways. The violation of Human Rights is on trial here and we are supporting ‘We the People’.
