A taxpayer funded babysitter was arrested in St. Francisville, Louisiana last month. The daughter of a long time prosecutor J.S. “Stan” Lemelle who then was appointed by Attorney General Eric Holder to D.A. of Louisiana’s Middle District until 2013. 31-year-old Chanel Lemelle was arrested and charged with one count of cruelty to juveniles. She immediately posted a $20,000 bond and was released. Her resignation was accepted and a new teacher replaced her the same day according to Superintendent Hollis Milton. Witness’s said in a police report that she ” yelled at him in a loud voice and in a degrading manner because he was not walking like he was suppose to.” Witness’s went on to say that he was put to the end of the line to get his lunch and then was instructed to sit by himself, Miss Lemelle then snatched a Taco from his tray while saying that he “only needed one Taco”. The attestants didn’t see her hit the Boy, but when the Sheriff’s Deputy retrieved and reviewed the camera footage from the School Cafeteria that told another story. It clearly showed the student walking by Miss Lemelle and her kicking him in the buttocks, and then slapping him in the back of the head.
The Bains Lower Elementary School also had a few more eyewitness’ come forward to say that Miss Lemelle would often take an empty plate to lunch and feed herself with food from her students. She was also seen in the hallway a week before this incident with the same abused boy, he was crying as she was hollering at him while waving a stick. The first grader was interviewed by a Child Advocacy Group in where his accounts of the events that took place match the eyewitness’ testimony and the camera footage. This 10-year veteran of this school district is being represented by her dad’s law firm and taking the case is District Attorney Don Cazayoux and Obama appointee. He came out with a statement “She’s devastated, She’s very sad that this is going on, She loves teaching, loves her students and would never do anything to hurt any of her children.”
Several parents lashed out about this barbaric conduct in the state subsidized daycare. Dee Murphy posted on Facebook saying “if I was that child’s mother you’d have to hold me back. The camera doesn’t lie! I hope this child gets counseling and justice is rightfully served on her without her daddy’s wrongful intervention, this makes me sick!!!” Another irate parent, Stan Smith wrote “She’s lucky he wasn’t my kid” Michelle A. Gaines posted “I know what my child has experienced within this school district, My kid was belittled by a teacher in front of whole classroom full of kids, he was verbally assaulted by a student, and knocked down, all in the presence of a teacher. Nothing was done. I have gone to the school several times.. this school system is horrible and they cover up so much wrong doing. I feel sorry for the other parents that have had the same issues and pulled their kids from this school district. I have recently pulled my child,” she wrote. Superintendent Milton says that Lemelle’s abuse allegations are a dissimilarity to the “positive, warm culture that children experience every day at the school.” ” At the end of the day, it’s still a wonderful school.”
Once again the misconduct of a child at a State funded indoctrinated institution, is frowned upon by the parents and the public who deliberately corral them into these day camps. With the help of the Government appointed Lawyer, this instance will dissipate as an unfortunate “isolated” incident, and the smiles and hugs will continue.
