Addressing a peaceable armed crowd at the Temple, Tex. “Come and Take it Rally” Saturday, Sipsey Street Irregulars blogger Mike Vanderboegh warned law enforcement against delegitimizing itself by following unconstitutional orders, emphasizing his concerns by presenting a training target of a stereotypical citizen “militia” member used by the New Mexico Department of Public Safety.
Vanderboegh, the citizen journalist who initially reported on the Operation Fast and Furious “gunwalking” criminal enterprise, was one of several speakers at the event sponsored by DontComply.com.
Predicting he was “going to talk on a serious subject” that many would not like, Vanderboegh compared the Chinese philosophical concept of the Mandate of Heaven with the European Divine Right of Kings and John Locke’s definition of political legitimacy, concluding “Government at all levels in this country now [is] morally, ethically, economically and spiritually bankrupt.
